My Ma's gardening adventures just unearthed this ol' deck. Its was one of my early faves, a graphic so good I didn't want to get a single scratch on it, and well, you can see it got very well used, but the graphic that was not skated is still in decent knick, pretty impressive considering it was under a hedge for the past decade!
The original graphic was a robot flying through a starry night sky on a board, grabbing with both hands. I remember seeing it in G1 skateshop and asking for "The Stranger Board" behind the counter , "Oh yeah, Julien Stranger, sick, he rips, cool, here you go" I remember nodding like I knew who he was, but I had actually thought Stranger was the name of the board company and not the dude, like "Anti Hero" was a caption that Stranger the robot was saying or something? Perhaps it was such an undiscovered trivial faux pas that inspired me to become a complete skate nerd for the following decade!
Anyway, as years went on I cared less about graphics and more just about shape, even riding blanks for a few years. If I did get a board with a graphic I'd always skate it, never put one on my wall, but if I got this board again, I think it would find its way to my wall, the graphic was just too rad looking..which I could find a picture of it.
