I'm currently working on another all super-8 video as a follow up to The Scrum Tilly Lush. Courtesy of the very nice dudes at Carhartt Europe myself and my sound man and all round king of grim Gibbo recently got to travel to document some of the finest wheelyboarding we have ever witnessed from the feet of the good dudes in Malmo, Sweden.
We stayed with expert lens-man and super hu-man Nils "born on a bike" Svensson and his lovely fiancée and co-host Gilly Seagrave. As the project I'm working on is about skate photographers, we stuck with Nils to see how he lives and shoots, and we also documented what he documented..
I thought we were on holiday? DIY action in Pontus' playground. A bit of hard graft went down as Gibbo put on his expert hat and lectured everyone on the difference between Irish and English shovels..and also critiqued me on my mixing techniques, what a prick!
Job done! Nils and Pontus putting the finishing steeze on a bowled corner..Upon drying Pontus, Marcus, Johan, John, Martin and whole host of friendly fellas proceeded to rip the shit out of this rough aul DIY spot. Quite an inspiring and very friendly group of people, lots of rad stuff went down, can't wait to get the results back from the lab!
This was easily the most productive and possibly the most fun trip I've ever been on, thanks to Nils & Gilly for their hospitality, Pontus, J-Mag, and the crew for ripping and the Swedish weather for treating us with shiny goodness for the duration of the trip.
Stay tuned for more filming trips related to this vid and resulting lab fresh super 8 grain..
Joel Webb, what a champ. Met him a couple of times in Canberra, sound chap altogether.
ReplyDeleteThis new project looks well good, keep it coming.
